Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them: The Original Screenplay is J.K. Rowling’s screenwriting debut, expanding the wizarding world she created in Harry Potter. Set in 1926 New York City, the story follows Newt Scamander, a British magizoologist who arrives with a suitcase full of magical creatures. When some of them escape, chaos erupts in a city already tense from mysterious magical disturbances.

As Newt tries to recapture his creatures, he teams up with Tina Goldstein, her sister Queenie, and a No-Maj (non-magical person) named Jacob Kowalski. Together, they uncover a dark force threatening both the magical and non-magical worlds.
